Union Systems Limited (USL), a leading provider of international trade finance software solutions in Nigeria, has announced the launch of USL Academy, a dedicated training institution established to strengthen operational knowledge across its banking solutions.
The academy will deliver structured, role-based training programs covering Union Systems’ full suite of products while also equipping bank professionals with a deeper understanding of the operational environments in which these systems function. The launch of USL Academy addresses a growing challenge across Nigeria’s banking industry such as maintaining critical system knowledge in the face of frequent staff movement, relocation, and turnover.
A key focus of the academy will be strengthening expertise in Kachasi trade finance software, Union Systems’ flagship product used by banks to manage their trade finance operations.
Across the banking sector, experienced trade finance personnel frequently move between banks, and when these transitions occur, valuable operational knowledge about specialized systems such as Kachasi often leaves with them. This creates knowledge gaps that can lead to operational inefficiencies, slower transaction processing, and increased dependence on vendor support teams.
USL Academy was created to address this challenge by institutionalizing knowledge transfer and equipping bank professionals with the expertise required to operate these systems effectively. Through structured training programs that combine product expertise with real-world operational scenarios, the academy will help ensure that knowledge of Kachasi and other Union Systems solutions remains embedded within banks rather than tied to individual employees.

The first USL Academy training program will commence in the third quarter of this year, focusing on operational training for users of Kachasi. The program will provide participants with practical knowledge of system workflows, role-based training of product modules, transaction processing, and operational best practices.
