Emmanuel Nkenwokeneme is the Chief Technology Officer of Union Systems Limited. He is an accomplished IT professional with more than 15 years of software development and implementation in the financial industry across Africa. In his current role at Union Systems Limited, he drives the company’s engineering vision and provides sound technical leadership in all aspects of the business.


At Union Systems Limited, Emmanuel has coordinated the design and development of several enterprise applications which have revolutionized the wholesale banking system in Africa. These applications include Kachasi – International Trade Finance Software, Optimus – Corporate Portal, Sakobia – Payment & Settlement Manager, and Tentacles – Enterprise Integration Hub. He implemented various Machine Learning techniques and built advanced AI solutions that solve complex problems in the banking sector and enable data-driven business decisions for corporates.

He began his career as a Software Engineer at Neptune Software Limited, where he worked extensively in the development of Rubikon Core Banking application and Treasury application, respectively. He later moved to Zanibal LLC as an Application Development Consultant, where he played a major technical role in the merger of Intercontinental Bank and Access Bank.

Before joining Union Systems, he created SaaS frameworks to manage healthcare maintenance organization businesses and prepare for evolving requirements with scalable and adaptable approaches as a Senior Technical Architect in OspreyZenith Consulting Limited.

He is passionate about building thriving technology teams that automate and digitize business processes with world-class applications and spends most of his time thinking about the future of financial technology in the region. He is an alumnus of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Benin, Nigeria.
