About Akin Ismail Aderoju

Akin Aderoju is the Head of Finance /CFO at Union Systems Ltd, a leading software development Company. He is a professional accountant with over 18 years of experience in sales and marketing, audit, tax management and strategic financial management.

At Union Systems Ltd, he is responsible for setting realistic internal control processes, setting and monitoring budget performance, Strategic management reports, Tax management, Statutory and regulatory compliances, performing investment appraisals and analyses, Strategic Financial Planning and fund management.

Akin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria (CIFCN), a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), and a master’s degree holder in Finance Management from Lagos State University (LASU).

Before joining USL, he worked in various industries and multi-national Companies in his career spanning over 18 years.

He started his career in 2005 as an Accountant with Royal Builders Ltd, a construction company for four years. Then, moved to a multinational Company, Fan Milk Plc as a Key Account Officer and resigned as a City Sales Manager in 2013.

His quest to explore the field of Finance, Audit and Tax took him to AA Professional Services, a consulting firm as an Audit Senior and rose to the level of tax and audit consultant. He was responsible for Companies’ Tax reviews, statutory audits and represented FIRS and LIRS in tax consultancy.

In 2018, he joined Gebit Group, an Architectural Construction Company as a Senior Accountant. He was able to turn the dwindling receivable problem that had culminated to huge bad debt around and achieve nearly 100% revenue collection in his first year and that promoted him to the role of finance department Team Lead in his 2nd year.

Akin also contributed immensely to the growth of the fastest-growing fitness company in Africa. He joined i-Fitness Nigeria Ltd in 2022 as a Finance Manager, supporting the growth from 14 branches to 23 branches within a year.
